FAA and National Transportation Safety Board launch investigations into Northwest flight

USA's FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board have reportedly launched separate investigations into why a Northwest Airlines flight on 21-Oct-2009 overshot its destination by 240km and failed to maintain radio contact (UPI, 25-Oct-2009).
