EUROCONTROL: Europe's busiest city pair in 2024 was Dublin-London
EUROCONTROL, via its 'Data Snapshot #49', reported (14-Feb-2025) Dublin-London was Europe's busiest city pair in 2024, for the third consecutive year, with an average of 91 daily flights in 2024. Amsterdam-London ranked second with 84 daily flights, down from 105 in 2019, with part of the decrease able to be attributed to the improved direct train service connecting the two cities. The third busiest European route was the domestic Turkish route between Antalya and Istanbul, with 69 daily flights. The London-New York trans-Atlantic route and the domestic UK route between Edinburgh and London shared joint fourth place, both averaging 65 daily flights. EUROCONTROL noted the war in Ukraine has also had a significant impact on the busiest city pairs in the European region, impacting daily flight numbers in the 'Other Europe' region, which was led by Moscow-St Petersburg, with 117 daily flights.
