Emirates to upgrade aircraft and capacity on Dubai-Melbourne-Auckland route

Emirates announced plans to upgrade Dubai-Melbourne-Auckland capacity from Aug-2010, replacing A340-500 aircraft with B777-300ER aircraft on the route, increasing seats by 672 per week in each direction (New Zealand Herald, 04-Feb-2010). Emirates' New Zealand Manager, Chris Lethbridge, stated the carrier may also upgrade aircraft from A340-500 to B777-300ER on the Dubai-Brisbane-Auckland sector in late 2010.
