This winter season Ryanair will increase the number of frequencies on six routes

Krišjānis Peters, Chairman of the Board of RIGA International Airport, said:" Due to the difficult situation in the aviation industry many airlines in the winter season decide to reduce the frequency of flights and number of routes whereas Ryanair on six routes to Riga will increase the number of flights thus demonstrating its own strength and Riga's unchanging appeal as a tourist and business destination."

From 25 October there will be an additional flight to East Midlands (totalling 3 flights a week), to Glasgow (totalling 3 flights a week) and to Brussels (up to 4 flights a week). Two additional flights this winter will be offered to Liverpool (totalling 4 flights a week) and to Milan (to 5 flights a week). Ryanair will provide four additional flights from Riga to the capital of Ireland, Dublin making it a much needed daily operation.

The number of Ryanair flights per week remains unchanged to Dusseldorf (Weeze) - 4 times, to Frankfurt (Hahn) - 4 times, to Tampere - 7 times, to London (Stansted) - double daily, to Stockholm (Skavsta) - double daily and to Bremen - 3 times per week. Ryanair in the winter season will not fly to Bristol.

Ryanair commenced its operations in 2004. Now the airline operates flights from Riga to 13 direct destinations. In the seven months of 2009 it has carried over half a million passengers or 22.6 percent of the total passenger traffic at RIGA International Airport.
