Jet Airways file petition in the Hon’ble High Court of Bombay

09-Sep-2009 Jet Airways have filed a Writ Petition in the Hon’ble High Court of Bombay being Writ Petition (L) No 1803 of 2009, against Union of India, the Regional Labour Commissioner and the National Aviator’s Guild.

The division bench of the Hon'ble High Court of Bombay, comprising of the Hon'ble Chief Justice and the Hon'ble Mr Justice A M Khanwilkar, by their Order dated 8th September, 2009, restrained the members of the National Aviator's Guild from going on illegal strike under Sections 22 and 23 of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 till the next date of hearing of the Petition.

Since the members of the National Aviator's Guild, failed to comply with the aforementioned order of the Hon'ble High Court of Bombay, Jet Airways (I) Ltd filed a Contempt Petition being Contempt Petition (L) No 1803 of 2009 in the Hon'ble High Court of Bombay. The Hon'ble Dr Justice D Y Chandrachud by his order dated 9th September, after hearing Jet's Counsel, directed the Registry of the Hon'ble High Court of Bombay to issue a notice to the National Aviator's Guild and its office bearers and made the matter returnable on 14th September, 2009.
