DFS announces double digit ATC fee reductions in 2017

Deutsche Flugsicherung (DFS) announced (11-Jan-2017) an 18% reduction in takeoff and landing fees at Germany's airports, and a 16% reduction in enroute ATM fees, effective 01-Jan-2017. DFS stated Hamburg-Munich operated with A320 equipment will cost EUR641.05, compared to the 2016 rate of EUR782.22. Additionally, passenger security check fees have been reduced from EUR4.60 per passenger to EUR3.82. DFS chairman and CEO Klaus-Dieter Scheurle stated terminal and enroute charges have decreased 28% and 23%, respectively, since 2015. He added: "This relief reaches the airlines in an economically difficult situation in the face of the upheavals of the international aviation industry".
