Denver International Airport sets all time record for May passenger traffic

US' Denver International Airport passenger numbers up 2% - traffic highlights for May-2014:

  • Passenger numbers: 4.6 million, +2.1% year-on-year;
  • Cargo volume: 19,075 tonnes, -0.1%;
    • Freight and express: 17,813, -0.2%;
    • Mail: 1262, +1.0%;
  • Aircraft movements: 48,625, -2.2%.

The airport stated (01-Jul-2014) it set a record for the busiest May-2014 in its 19-year history, marking the second consecutive month of record-setting passenger traffic at DIA. DIA CEO Kim Day said: "Southwest and Frontier both saw strong increases in origin and destination traffic while United saw an acceleration in connecting traffic -all of which helped fuel two consecutive months of record-setting passenger traffic at Denver International Airport".
