Buddha Air takes delivery of ATR 72-600

Buddha Air, via its official Facebook account, announced (24-Jul-2026) it took delivery of Nepal's first ATR 72-600 (9N-AOS). Buddha Air expects the aircraft will help improve operational reliability while supporting safer and more efficient air travel across Nepal.

Background

Buddha Air retired an ATR 72-500 after its final scheduled Siddharthanagar-Kathmandu service on 09-Mar-2026, with the aircraft having entered commercial operation on 02-Jul-2010.1 It previously took delivery of an ATR 72-500 on 06-Dec-2024, reporting a fleet of 19 aircraft at that time.2
