Established in Nov-1981, ATR (Avions de Transport Régional) is an aircraft manufacturer based in Toulouse, France. ATR was founded as a joint venture between the Airbus Group and Alenia Aermacchi (a former Finmeccanica company, now known as the Leonardo Company). The company produces two sizes of regional turboprop aircraft, the 70-seat ATR 72 and the 50-seat ATR 42.
