Brussels Airport pax up 2%, cargo down 6% in Aug-2013; record pax load factor ever

Belgium's Brussels Airport passenger numbers up 2% - traffic highlights for Aug-2013:

• Passenger numbers: 2.0 million, +1.6% year-on-year;

The airport stated (10-Sep-2013) it recorded its best August traffic in the past 13 years, with all passenger traffic segments reporting growth. In the intra-European segment, low cost is growing slightly faster than the leisure flights and scheduled services. In the long-haul segment, Brussels Airlines in particular is compensating for the loss of a number of foreign airlines.
