British Airways confirms interest in bmi

British Airways CEO, Willie Walsh, confirmed the carrier is interested in bmi (The Telegraph, 01-Oct-2009). bmi is currently the second largest holder of slots at London Heathrow International Airport (11.5%), behind British Airways, which holds 41% of Heathrow slots.

British Airways: "I believe we could make Lufthansa a very credible offer to acquire it. I'm not going to signal what I'm willing to pay for it, but if Lufthansa is willing to sell it, we would make a serious offer," Willie Walsh, CEO. Source: The Telegraph, 01-Oct-2009.
