British Airways "confident" of DoT approval of American Airlines ATI approval

British Airways CEO, Willie Walsh stated he remains confident the carrier will be able to reach a merger deal with Iberia before the end of the year (The Financial Times, 06-Nov-2009/Daily Express, 07-Nov-2009). Mr Walsh stated he was also confident the carrier's proposed trans-Atlantic alliance with American Airlines will be approved by the US Department of Transportation.
