Brazil ABEAR says Brazilian carriers see 'stable expansion' in Sep-2013

Brazil's Brazilian Association of Airlines announced (17-Oct-2013) its four member carriers together recorded "a stable pace of expansion" in Sep-2013. ABEAR reported the following Sep-2013 figures:

  • Domestic:
    • Passengers: 6.47 million;
    • ASKs: 9.3 billion, -5% month-on-month;
    • RPKs: 7.1 billion, -1% month-on-month;
    • Load factor: 77.4%, +3.1% month-on-month;
  • International:
    • Passengers: 381,000;
    • RPKs:
      • TAM: 2 billion;
      • Gol: 0.3 billion;
    • Market share:

ABEAR president Eduardo Sanovicz commented, "These numbers are within the expected [range] and reflect both the process of adjustment of supply, initiated by airlines in 2012 and strengthened in 2013 as a way of coping with rising operating costs."
