Germany’s Berlin Airports reports (11-Jan-2010) the following traffic highlights:

  • 2009:
    • Passenger numbers: 21 million, -2.0% year-on-year;

      • Schoenefeld Airport: 6.8 million, +2.4%.

Berlin Airports: “Although Berlin Airports narrowly missed achieving the traffic figures of the previous year due to the difficult macroeconomic environment, this result has enabled it to consolidate its position in third place in the ranking of German commercial airports. Our share of the German air traffic market has once again grown and is now 11.6%… In 2010 we are expecting traffic to stabilise and once again hope to significantly exceed the record of 21 million passengers,” Dr. Rainer Schwarz, CEO of Berlin Airports.
