BAA encouraged by 3.8% increase in Jan-2011 passengers
BAA reports passenger traffic up 3.8% - traffic highlights in Jan-2011:
- Passenger numbers: 7.5 million, +3.8%;
- Aircraft movements: 72,530, +5.9%;
- London Heathrow: 39,349, +8.9%;
- London Stansted: 10,300, -8.8%;
- Southampton: 2700, +6.0%;
- Glasgow: 5314, +11.2%;
- Edinburgh: 7673, +6.9%;
- Aberdeen: 7194, +9.2%;
- Air cargo: 134,102 tonnes, +8.5%;
- London Heathrow: 116,176, +9.3%;
- London Stansted: 15,578, +2.7%;
- Southampton: 7, -37.8%;
- Glasgow: 466, +134.9%;
- Edinburgh: 1433, -7.0%;
- Aberdeen: 411, +22.3%.
- UK & Channel Islands traffic: 1.3 million, +8.3%;
- Ireland: 300,000, -1.1%;
- Europe scheduled: 2.9 million, +2.7%;
- Europe charter: 90,500, -9.3%;
- North Atlantic: 1.1 million, +3.2%;
