BAA encouraged by 3.8% increase in Jan-2011 passengers

BAA reports passenger traffic up 3.8% - traffic highlights in Jan-2011:

  • UK & Channel Islands traffic: 1.3 million, +8.3%;
  • Ireland: 300,000, -1.1%;
  • Europe scheduled: 2.9 million, +2.7%;
  • Europe charter: 90,500, -9.3%;
  • North Atlantic: 1.1 million, +3.2%;
  • Other long-haul: 1.9 million, +4.5%. [more]

BAA: "The underlying performance of our airports is strong, reflecting an improving economic environment. In particular, Heathrow's strong performance and our GBP5 billion investment programme is good for the British economy and for passengers.
