Andhra Pradesh increases incentives for airport developers

India’s Andhra Pradesh State Government reportedly plans to offer additional incentives to airport developers to bid for regional airports, including exemption from value-added taxes and lease rentals for the first seven years of operations (Live Mint, 02-Oct-09). The government tendered the development of eight airports in regional cities in Mar-2008, but did not receive any bids. The government now plans to tender the development of four airports in Andhra Pradesh, including Ramagundam, Kurnool, Tadepalligudem and Nizamabad.
