ANA in talks with Kansai Airport over LCC

All Nippon Airways has commenced talks with Kansai International Airport Co regarding the launch of a Kansai-based LCC as early as next fiscal year (Kyodo/Japan Times, 04-Jul-2010). The LCC would operate domestic and international routes from the airport, with the subsidiary to operate under a different brand name to its parent. Meanwhile, the airport is considering plans to construct a LCCT. ANA is also planning to employ foreign pilots and flight attendants and offer simplified inflight services, as part of efforts to maintain a lower cost base than its parent.
