Alaska Airlines and American Airlines announced an intention for Alaska to join American's Atlantic and Pacific joint businesses, with the carriers expecting to file for US Department of Transportation approval and antitrust immunity and to seek other international regulatory approvals in the coming months.1 American Airlines CEO Robert Isom said on the 1Q2026 earnings call that it looked forward to doing more with Alaska and building on a long-standing relationship.2
