Akasa Air to expand at new Indian airports: SVP
Akasa Air SVP international operations Neelu Khatri, speaking at Routes Asia 2025, stated (26-Mar-2025) the airline plans to expand into new airports in India, including Navi Mumbai International Airport and Jewar Noida International Airport. Ms Khatri said certain Indian airports "have been highly constrained" and the new facilities will be beneficial in enabling future growth.

Navi Mumbai International Airport was expected to open on 17-Apr-2025, but its inauguration was postponed to Jun-2025, with commercial operations beginning in late Jul-2025 or early Aug-20251 2. The airport's initial capacity was set at 20 million passengers per annum (p/a), with plans to expand to 50 million by mid-2029 and eventually reach 90 million p/a by 2031/323 4. Jewar Noida International Airport was also on track to commence operations in Apr-20255.
