About

Delhi Noida International Airport  is a proposed new airport construction project for the Indian capital, Delhi. The new airport would provide the National Capital Region with a second facility after Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport. The plans for the airport were approved by India's Aviation Ministry on 25-Jun-2015. The Government granted site clearance to Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (DMICDC) for the establishment of a greenfield airport. Construction of the airport was due to be inaugurated in Aug-2021 but faced delays due to the coronavirus pandemic and was inaugurated in Nov-2021. It will be developed across 5000 hectares by Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL), a subsidiary of Zurich Airport International AG, and is set to be operational by Apr-2025. GMR Group held first right of refusal for any new airport in Delhi but did not take up that option.

Oct-2025. India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) commenced calibration flights at Delhi Noida International Airport on 31-Oct-2025. Delhi Noida will exclusively handle domestic services and operate during daytime hours initially, before expanding to round the clock operation and recording the launch of international services in 1H2026.

Jul-2025. Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority CEO Arun Vir Singh said Delhi Noida International Airport is expected to commence operations by Sep-2025.

Mar-2025. Jewar Noida International Airport chief operating officer (COO) Kiran Jain stated the airport is focused on completing licensing processes as its next "critical milestone", which will "hopefully" be completed by the end of May-2025. Ms Jain said the airport is planning for a "slow, steady ramp up" to the launch of operations and a programme is in place with its...
