Airbus wins orders/commitments for 201 aircraft at Day 2 of 2016 Farnborough Airshow
Airbus reported (12-Jul-2016) the following highlights from Day 2 of the 2016 Farnborough International Airshow:
- AirAsia: Order for 100 A321neo aircraft, increasing its total orders for A320 family aircraft to 575, and reaffirming its position as the largest airline customer for Airbus' single-aisle product line.
- GoAir: MoU for 72 A320neo aircraft. GoAir CEO Wolfgang Prock-Schauer also said the company is thinking of cooperating with Airbus for pilot training in India, where Airbus already has training infrastructure;
- Germania Group: Firm order for 25 A320neo aircraft;
- WOW air: Firm order for four A321;
- Air France: Agreed to install Airbus' Runway Overrun Prevention System (ROPS) and AutoPilot/ Flight Director TCAS on its A320 and A330 family aircraft;
- Partnership with Rolls-Royce to deliver integrated parts availability service for Cathay Pacific Airways' A350 XWBs;
- Airbus also unveiled its new integrated flight operations ATM company. Called NAVBLUE, it unites the portfolios of Navtech - which Airbus acquired in Mar-2016 - with Airbus ProSky and Airbus Flight Operations Services. [more - original PR]
