AirAsia X CEO, Azran Osman-Rani stated the carrier is currently in talks with US airports to launch services to the country (Shepard Group, 15-Sep-09). The carrier's second A340, with Oakland Raiders branding, recently landed in the US, to promote its sponsorship agreement with the football team.

AirAsia X:
"US destinations are very much in our long term plans, as demonstrated by our recent order for 10 Airbus A350 aircraft. These planes would be delivered beginning 2016. However, we are exploring ways of commencing flights to the US much earlier than 2016." Azran Osman-Rani, CEO. Source: Shepard Group, 15-Sep-09.
