AirAsia X performance exceeds expectations in 3Q2016, reflects 'improvements in all areas'

AirAsia X stated (31-Oct-2016) operating performance in 3Q2016 exceeded expectations, despite a "huge" increase in capacity, and performance, "signifies marked improvements in all areas." Double-digit growth in passenger numbers was partly attributed to strong demand for travel from North Asia and among Malaysians during Eid in Jul-2016 and Sep-2016 and the Malaysia Day long weekend.
