Air New Zealand passenger numbers up 2% in May-2012, yields stronger

Air New Zealand passenger numbers up 2.0% - traffic highlights for May-2012:

  • Passenger numbers: 910,000, +2.0% year-on-year;
    • Short-haul: 807,000, +1.7%;
    • Domestic: 611,000, +0.4%;
    • Tasman/Pacific: 195,000, +5.9%;
    • Long-haul: 103,000, +4.8%;
    • Asia/Japan/UK: 41,000, +10.8%;
    • North America/UK: 62,000, +1.1%;
  • Passenger load factor: 79.7%, +1.2 ppts;
    • Short-haul: 80.8%, +1.8 ppts;
    • Domestic: 78.9%, -0.1 ppt;
    • Tasman/Pacific: 81.9%, +3.0 ppts;
    • Long-haul: 78.9%, +0.8 ppt;
    • Asia/Japan/UK: 73.3%, +0.1 ppt;

Air New Zealand: "Group-wide yields for the financial year to date were up 3.2% on the same period last year. Compared to May-2011, year to date Short Haul yields were up 1.1%.
