AEA calls EU/US open skies agreement "realistic, but not visionary"

Association of European Airlines stated (26-Mar-2010) it is satisfied that the draft 'second phase' EU/US open skies agreement has established a process for further dialogue, but it was not the outcome it hoped for. The deal has made "important strides" in areas such as environment, where the US affirmed its commitment to a global approach for CO2 emissions, and in safety and social matters.[more]

Association of European Airlines: "What we have is a process, and a commitment from the US that they will continue to talk about liberalising ownership & control. That in itself is a step forward, but it is not where we hoped we would be," Ulrich Schulte-Strathaus, Secretary General. Source: AEA, 26-Mar-2010.
