A4A says merger between Virgin America and Alaska Airlines will be 'great for consumers'

A4A SVP legislative and regulatory policy Sharon Pinkerton, speaking at the CAPA Americas Aviation Summit 2016, stated (11-Apr-2016) the recently announced merger between Virgin America and Alaska Airlines is "going to be great for consumers." She said the US industry is highly competitive, citing the example of Alaska's competition with Delta in Seattle. "Alaska's merger [with Virgin America] is going to allow them to compete better", she concluded.
