Sydney Airport announces Australia’s first flights to Beijing Daxing
China Southern has announced the launch of a direct, four times per week service between Sydney and Beijing Daxing Airport, making Sydney the first port in Australia to connect with Daxing, and reinforcing the airport's position as Australia's premier gateway to China.
The new flights commence on 13 December 2024 and will increase connectivity for passengers to mainland China, with flights due to operate on the Airbus A333, configured with 28 Business Class seats and 258 Economy Class seats.
Greg Botham Group Executive, Aviation Growth & Group Strategy, Sydney Airport, said: "We are proud to be the first airport in Australia offering flights to Beijing Daxing, providing passengers with unprecedented choice and convenience when travelling to Sydney."
"This marks another step in our commitment to improving connectivity with mainland China. With the market recovering to nearly 90 per cent in the first half of 2024 and peaking at a remarkable 97 per cent in July, these new flights will not only add much-needed capacity, but also provide a strong impetus for further recovery, reinforcing Sydney's position as the premier gateway for traffic to and from China."
The new flight schedule forms part of a 10-week initial season with Sydney Airport the first Australian airport offering services to Beijing Daxing at four times per week.
