Position Paper on Malaysia’s Airports Industry Structure

MAVCOM released a position paper which outlines MAVCOM's position and recommendations on an optimal structure for Malaysia's commercial airports sector. The paper highlights the issues and challenges that Malaysia's airports sector faces, as well as, provide recommendations on how the sector should be structured.

One key highlight from the paper is MAVCOM's emphasis on the need for increased commercial freedom and autonomy for airport operators. While MAVCOM's research has shown that airport operators can succeed under a variety of ownership and industry structures, operators must have the ability to operate on a fully commercial basis.
