New pre-departure requirements for travel from Victoria to New Zealand

Direct News Source

The New Zealand Government now requires a pre-departure, negative COVID-19 test for travellers who were in the state of Victoria between 20-25 May (before 5.59pm AEST). This requirement is effective from 9.59pm AEST, 31 May 2021.

Passengers who were in the state of Victoria between 20-25 May (but before 5.59pm AEST on 25 May) can board a quarantine-free flight from outside of Victoria to New Zealand, providing they meet the following criteria:

  • Have not visited any of the locations of interest found here at the relevant times (in which case they are ineligible to fly for 14 days post being exposed).
  • Present evidence of a negative COVID-19 test, taken within 72 hours of departure to New Zealand. Passengers should also keep evidence of the negative test throughout their journey. If this requirement is not met, the passenger will not be uplifted for travel. Children aged 2 years and under are exempt from this requirement.

Please note - passengers who have been in Victoria from 25 May, 5.59pm AEST are not permitted to travel on a quarantine-free flight to New Zealand.
