Lufthansa report Oct-2009 traffic

In a market environment still defined by price pressure, the Lufthansa Group was able to improve its load factors substantially in October. The load factor in the passenger business rose by 1.7 percentage points to 80.5 per cent. Capacity rose by 14.9 per cent in total due to the consolidation of Austrian Airlines and bmi, while sales were up 17.3 per cent. On a like-for-like basis, sales were slightly higher than last year (+0.5%), while the Group cut capacity by 2.5 per cent.
