Lufthansa Group will expand tourist-oriented long-haul program from Frankfurt and Munich in summer 2020.

Lufthansa Group is consistently continuing the expansion of its tourist-oriented long-haul program from its hubs in Munich and Frankfurt. Beginning with the 2020 summer flight schedule, leisure travelers in particular will benefit from attractive new destinations. The focus is on North American destinations - as of next summer, Lufthansa will be expanding its services to include Las Vegas, Phoenix, Anchorage, Seattle, Orlando, Detroit. In addition, Bangalore, a destination in Asia, is added to the timetable in Munich. The majority of the flights will operate in cooperation with Eurowings, which will be using a fleet of Airbus A330 aircraft with up to 270 seats. Eurowings will already be present at Germany's largest hub in Frankfurt beginning with the 2019/2020 winter flight schedule that goes into effect in late October, offering flights to the popular holiday islands of Barbados and Mauritius as well as to Las Vegas and Windhoek. From Munich, Eurowings has been offering long-haul connections to selected tourist destinations since Summer 2018.

The new destinations from Munich in detail:

As of 1 June 2020, there will be flights to Seattle daily except Thursdays. The flight will depart from Munich at 3:30 p.m. and arrive at its destination at 4:55 p.m. local time. The return flight will take off in Seattle at 6:45 p.m. and land in Munich at 1:50p.m. the next day.

Another U.S. destination from Munich is Detroit. Beginning on 4 May 2020, Lufthansa will fly to the city in Michigan five times a week - on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The flight will depart at 12:40 p.m. and land at 3:45 p.m. local time. The return flight to Germany will take off at 5:35 p.m. local time, arriving in Munich at 7:45 a.m. the next morning.

As of 31 March 2020, Lufthansa will fly to the Indian metropolis of Bangalore five times a week - on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The flight will take off in Munich at 11:55 a.m. and land at 0:05 a.m. local time the following day. The return flight to Germany departs at 1:45 a.m. local time, arriving in Munich at 7:30 a.m.

All of these cities will be served from Munich for the first time with the state-of-the-art and efficient Airbus A350-900.

In addition to these flights, the Lufthansa Group will offer two additional U.S. destinations from Lufthansa's Munich hub: Eurowings will fly to Las Vegas twice a week as of 6 April 2020, on Mondays and Fridays. Flights will depart from the Bavarian capital at 11:45 a.m. and land in Las Vegas at 2:40 p.m. local time. The return flight takes off from Las Vegas at 4:30 p.m. and arrives in Munich at 12:55 p.m. the next day. These summer connections supplement the year-round connections to the glittering metropolis offered by Lufthansa from Frankfurt three times a week.

Another U.S. destination from Munich is Orlando. As of 7 April 2020, Eurowings will fly an Airbus A330 to the city in the Sunshine State Florida three times a week - on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Departure will be at 9:10 a.m. and the flight will land at 1:55 p.m. local time. The return flight to Germany departs at 3:45 p.m. local time, arriving in Munich at 7:20 a.m. the next morning.

The new destinations from Frankfurt in detail:

As of 29 April 2020, Eurowings will fly to Phoenix/Arizona from Germany's largest hub five times a week - on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The flight will take off from Frankfurt at 2:05 p.m. and arrive at its destination at 5:05 p.m. local time. The return flight will depart from Phoenix at 6:55 p.m. and arrive in Frankfurt at 3:05 p.m. the next day.

New in the 2020 summer timetable from Frankfurt: the city of Anchorage in the U.S. state of Alaska. Eurowings will fly there three times a week beginning on 1 June 2020 - on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The outbound flight takes off from Frankfurt at 10:30 a.m. and lands in Anchorage at 11:55 a.m. local time. The return flight leaves Alaska at 1:55 p.m. local time, landing in Frankfurt at 10:45 a.m. the next day.

In addition to these flights, the Windhoek and Las Vegas destinations that are already available in the 2019/2020 winter flight schedule will continue to be offered in the summer of 2020.

Die Lufthansa Group setzt den Ausbau ihres touristischen Langstreckenangebots aus ihren Drehkreuzen in München und Frankfurt konsequent fort. Ab dem Sommerflugplan 2020 profitieren insbesondere Privatreisende von neuen attraktiven Zielen. Der Schwerpunkt liegt dabei auf nordamerikanischen Destinationen - hier erweitert die Lufthansa Group ab dem nächsten Sommer ihr Angebot mit den Zielen Las Vegas, Phoenix, Anchorage, Orlando, Seattle, Detroit. Zusätzlich kommt in München mit Bangalore ein Ziel in Asien neu in den Flugplan hinzu. Ein Großteil der Flüge erfolgt dabei in Kooperation mit Eurowings, die dazu eine Teilflotte von Airbus A330-Flugzeugen mit 270 Sitzen einsetzt. Eurowings wird bereits ab dem Winterflugplan 19/20, der Ende Oktober startet, an Deutschlands größtem Drehkreuz in Frankfurt präsent sein und Flüge zu den beliebten Urlaubsinseln Barbados, Mauritius sowie nach Las Vegas und Windhoek anbieten. Ab München bietet Eurowings bereits seit Sommer 2018 Langstreckenverbindungen zu ausgewählten touristischen Destinationen an.

Die neuen Ziele ab München im Detail:

Seattle wird ab 1. Juni 2020 täglich außer donnerstags angeflogen. Der Flug startet um 15.30 Uhr in München und erreicht um 16:55 Uhr Ortszeit die nordamerikanische Stadt am Pazifik. Der Rückflug hebt um 18.45 Uhr in Seattle ab und ist um 13.50 Uhr in München.

Ein weiteres US-Ziel ab München ist Detroit. Ab dem 4. Mai 2020 fliegt Lufthansa fünfmal pro Woche - jeweils montags, mittwochs, donnerstags, freitags und samstags - in die Stadt im Bundesstaat Michigan. Abflug ist um 12.40 Uhr - die Landung erfolgt um 15.45 Uhr Ortszeit. Der Rückflug nach Deutschland startet um 17.35 Uhr Ortszeit, die Ankunft in München ist um 7.45 Uhr am nächsten Morgen.

Ab dem 31. März 2020 fliegt Lufthansa fünfmal pro Woche - jeweils dienstags, donnerstags, freitags, samstags und sonntags - in die indische Metropole Bangalore. Abflug in München ist um 11:55 Uhr - die Landung erfolgt um 0.05 Uhr Ortszeit am Folgetag. Der Rückflug nach Deutschland startet um 1:45 Uhr Ortszeit, die Ankunft in München ist für 7:30 Uhr geplant.

Diese Städte werden alle erstmals ab München mit dem hochmodernen und effizienten Airbus A350-900 angeflogen.

Darüber hinaus bietet die Lufthansa Group zwei weitere US-Ziele ab dem Lufthansa Drehkreuz München an: Ab dem Lufthansa-Drehkreuz München fliegt Eurowings ab dem 6. April 2020 zweimal die Woche -jeweils montags und freitags - nach Las Vegas. Die Flüge starten um 11.45 Uhr ab der bayerischen Landeshauptstadt und landen um 14.40 Uhr Ortszeit in Las Vegas. Der Rückflug hebt um 16.30 Uhr in Las Vegas ab und landet am nächsten Tag um 12.55 Uhr in München. Diese Verbindungen im Sommer ergänzen die ganzjährig angebotenen Verbindungen in die Glitzermetropole, die Lufthansa dreimal pro Woche ab Frankfurt anbietet.

Ein weiteres US-Ziel ab München ist Orlando. Ab dem 7. April 2020 fliegt Eurowings dreimal pro Woche - jeweils dienstags, donnerstags und sonntags - mit einem Airbus A330 in die Stadt im Sunshine State Florida. Abflug ist um 9.10 Uhr - die Landung erfolgt um 13.55 Uhr Ortszeit. Der Rückflug nach Deutschland startet um 15.45 Uhr Ortszeit, die Ankunft in München ist um 7.20 Uhr am nächsten Morgen.

Die neuen Ziele ab Frankfurt im Detail:

Von Deutschlands größtem Drehkreuz aus geht es ab dem 29. April 2020 fünfmal pro Woche - jeweils montags, dienstags, mittwochs, freitags und sonntags - mit Eurowings nach Phoenix/Arizona. Der Flug startet um 14.05 Uhr in Frankfurt und ist um 17.05 Uhr Ortszeit am Ziel. Der Rückflug hebt um 18.55 Uhr in Phoenix ab und ist am nächsten Tag um 15.05 Uhr in Frankfurt.

Neu im Sommerflugplan 2020 ab Frankfurt ist die Stadt Anchorage im US-Bundesstaat Alaska. Eurowings fliegt ab dem 1. Juni 2020 dreimal pro Woche -jeweils montags, donnerstags und samstags- dorthin. Der Hinflug hebt um 10.30 Uhr in Frankfurt ab und landet um 11.55 Ortszeit in Anchorage. Zurück geht es um 13.55 Uhr Ortszeit in Alaska, die Landung in Frankfurt erfolgt um 10.45 Uhr am nächsten Tag.

Darüber hinaus werden die bereits ab dem Winterflugplan 2019/2020 angebotenen Ziele Windhoek und Las Vegas auch im Sommer 2020 weitergeführt.
