LATAM Airlines Brazil and Delta Air Lines took the first step towards regulatory approval of their trans-American Joint Venture Agreement in Brazil yesterday with a pre-filing presentation to the competition authority, the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE).

"Our strategic alliance with Delta continues to be a priority. This presentation reaffirms our commitment to providing customers with the leading connectivity and travel experience in the Americas and the alliance is one of the ways that LATAM will emerge from this global crisis as a stronger, more agile and more competitive airline group," said LATAM Airlines Brazil's CEO, Jerome Cadier.

The regulatory approval process with Brazil's competition authority represents the first step for the recently signed agreement between LATAM Airlines Group and its subsidiaries and Delta Air Lines, which - once regulatory approvals where required are granted - will seamlessly connect the carriers' highly complementary route networks between North and South America.
