12-Sep-2016 It's fun flying KLM Cityhopper, partly because you don't board the flight via the jetway, as you mostly do in Europe. Instead, you get a platform-view of plane before you head up the stairway, where the cabin crew are waiting to welcome you on board. Having started out as NLM in 1966, the airline took the name KLM Cityhopper in 1991. The past 50 years have seen KLM's little sister developing into a fully-fledged airline, carrying more than 7 million passengers a year.
