Hawaiian Airlines and Jetstar Group form interline partnership
18-Jan-2018 Hawaiian Airlines and Jetstar Group today launched a new interline partnership offering travelers from cities in New Zealand and Japan convenient flight connections to Hawai‘i and the U.S. mainland. The move enhances Hawaiian Airlines’ already comprehensive network of flights between Japan and Hawaii and underscores the carrier’s increasing commitment to New Zealand by expanding its reach beyond Auckland to eight additional cities.
Jetstar New Zealand’s domestic flights from Wellington, Christchurch, New Plymouth, Dunedin, Palmerston North, Napier, Nelson and Queenstown will now connect in Auckland with Hawaiian Airlines’ non-stop flights to Honolulu.
In Japan, the interline agreement allows Jetstar customers departing from Fukuoka, Kagoshima, Takamatsu, Okinawa and Kumamoto to connect on Hawaiian’s non-stop flights to Hawai‘i from Tokyo, Sapporo or Osaka.
“We are thrilled to make our authentic brand of warm Hawaiian hospitality accessible to more New Zealand and Japanese travelers,” said Peter Ingram, executive vice president and chief commercial officer for Hawaiian Airlines.
Jetstar’s Chief Commercial Officer Catriona Larritt said the agreement takes advantage of Jetstar’s growing networks in New Zealand and Japan.“The new partnership will make it easier for American visitors to explore our network of destinations in Japan and New Zealand, as well as offering travelers from both countries more options for travel to Hawai‘i,” Larritt said. The Jetstar partnership comes as Hawaiian Airlines prepares to increase its New Zealand operations from three to five non-stop weekly flights between Auckland and Honolulu. The increased frequency, starting March 21, responds to strong demand for the singular in-flight hospitality experienced by more than 260,000 Hawaiian Airlines passengers since service began in 2013.
“New Zealanders have been fast to discover Hawaiian Airlines as the ideal option for flights both to Hawai‘i and further to Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Francisco, New York, or any of the 11 U.S. North America cities we serve,” said Russell Williss, New Zealand country director for Hawaiian Airlines. “In addition to superior service and comfort, our guests are able to enjoy the convenience of a free stopover in Hawai‘i before connecting to North America or on the return to New Zealand.”
