First SWISS CS100 Aircraft Gets a Cosmetic Makeover
27-May-2016 Bombardier proudly rolled out the first C Series aircraft that will enter commercial service donning its launch customer's iconic branding. Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) will take delivery of its first of 30 firm C Series aircraft in June 2016.
"The aircraft build has been moving along steadily and smoothly and today, we watched as she carefully rolled out of the paint shop. Painting an aircraft is a complex chemical process that must be executed flawlessly," said Rob Dewar, Vice President, C Series Program. "This is probably the most artistic and emotional step in the whole build process because it is so visual and it is always a pleasure to watch airlines dazzle when they see their first aircraft in their brand colours."
After a few days of meticulous work performed by 40 paint shop employees, the aircraft now wears the iconic red and white colours of the C Series launch customer.
Over the next few days, the SWISS delivery team will be permanently on site in Mirabel as the CS100 advances toward its delivery.
The freshly-painted CS100 aircraft will spend the next few weeks finalizing its last assembly steps.
