Air Berlin: Good capacity utilization for October
In October 2009, Air Berlin, Germany's second-largest airline, transported a total of 2,732,364 passengers(including TUIfly's former city connections), i.e. 0.9 percent less than in the previous year (October 2008: including TUIfly's former city connections: 2,757,170). Fleet capacity utilization improved once again, increasing by 0.2 percentage points to 80.2 percent. Compared to the corresponding month of the previous
year, capacity was reduced by 1.2 percent. At 6.13 Eurocents, Air Berlin's revenue per available seat kilometer (ASK) was slightly lower than that of the previous year (October 2008: 6.19 Eurocents).
