14:15 Workshop: Black Swans and Ostriches – The true cost of a corporate travel risk management program

In 2012 we saw the Harmonised Workplace Health and Safety legislation come into play with broader definitions for workers, workplaces, responsibilities and liabilities. Comcare the Australian Government's regulator issued guidance on the measures needed when sending staff abroad for work or international assignment. These laws now seem to be coming of age with cases moving through the legal system putting officers and directors in the firing line for criminal prosecution. Given our increasingly VUCA world, do these recent events signal a clear and present danger for companies with international travellers and operations?

In this interactive workshop we will attempt to answer this question by; uncovering the true cost of compliant travel risk management, dispelling the myth that low risk means no risk and by rethinking the concept of unpredictable. Using a live polling tool, regional case data and through interactive audience participation we aim to draw out the key considerations, for travellers, travel managers, buyers, executives and corporations. Understanding today's world of corporate travel risks, helps organisations to better understand and prepare for tomorrow's.
