About
Magoodhoo Airport is an airport development project which will serve the island of Magoodhoo, Maldives. Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) were awarded the contract to develop the airport which is due for completion by the end of 2023.
Nov-2023. Regional Airports Company Limited signed an agreement with the Maldives' Ministry of Finance to assume operation and management responsibility for Magoodhoo Airport. The airport will be equipped with an 1800m runway and is on track to be completed and commissioned in 1Q2024.
Aug-2023. Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) reported it is proceeding with works to develop Magoodhoo Airport.
Mar-2023. Maldives' President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih reported Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) is on track to complete works to develop Magoodhoo Airport by the end of 2023. The airport will require an estimated investment of MVR231 million (USD15 million) to develop.
Jan-2023. Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) expects to complete works to develop Magoodhoo Airport by Sep-2023.
Oct-2022. Maldives' Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure awarded Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) a MVR231.5 million (USD15 million) contract to develop Magoodhoo Airport on Faafu Atoll. MTCC is expected to complete the airport development project within 550 days. Magoodhoo Airport will be equipped with a 1500m x 30m runway, a passenger terminal and an air traffic control tower.
Aug-2022. Maldives' Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure reissued an invitation to submit EoIs for the development of Magoodhoo Airport.
Mar-2022. Maldives' Minister of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure, Mohamed Aslam said Magoodhoo airport is scheduled to open in 2022, highlighting an agreement for the dredging of land that a Magoodhoo based airport is set to be constructed.
Dec-2021. Maldives' Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure issued an invitation to submit EoIs for the development of Magoodhoo Airport. The Ministry estimates the airport development project will require USD23.3 million.
