Colina Peldehue Airport

Colina Peldehue Airport is a new airport to serve the twin cities of Colina and Peldehue, north of Santiago Metropolitan. Chile's Ministry of Public Work signed an agreement with the Army on 14-Jul-2017 to facilitate the development of the new airport. Construction is budgeted at CLP11.5 billion (USD17.6 million). The construction was scheduled to complete in 2019 but delayed to a further date.

May-2018. Colina Peldehue Airport reached 50% construction completion. The CLP11.6 billion (USD18.6 million) project includes the construction of a 1500m x 30m runway, an ATC tower, administrative building, taxiway, apron, emergency services, perimeter fencing and surface access.

Jul-2017. Chile' Ministry of Public Works commenced groundworks for the construction of Colina Peldehue Airport, which will feature a 1150m by 23m runway and is dimensioned to handle up to 20,000 operations p/a. The airport construction is budgeted at CLP11.5 billion (USD17.6 million) is outlined to be completed in 20 months. The construction includes parallel and perpendicular taxiways, apron, and ATC tower.

Mar-2016. Chile's Government announced a USD1.1 billion investment in the country's airport infrastructure for the period 2014 to 2017. Improvement works include construction of a second runway at Balmaceda Teniente Vidal Airport and construction of a new airport at Peldehue.
