Aug-2023. Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) announced it held meetings to discuss the development of Bukidnon Airport and Camiguin Mambajao Airport. The ongoing Bukidnon Airport development project Phase I commenced on 02-Aug-2021 and is expected to finish by 15-Dec-2023. It includes works to concrete the 1260m x 30m runway and construction of an apron, and a north and south taxiway.

Nov-2021. Philippines' Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri reported construction of a PHP2 billion (USD39.8 million) Bukidnon Airport project is due to be fully completed in 2026. Details include:

  • The airport's runway is expected to be finished in 2022 and its terminal will be completed in 2023;
  • The airport, located in Barangay Maraymaray in Don Carlos, is one of the flagship projects of the government in Northern Mindanao;
  • Once operational it is expected to accommodate aircraft including the ATR-72 and Bombardier Q400;
  • The airport's first phase includes concreting of a 1260m runway, pipe conduits, box culverts and the construction of an apron for the north and south taxiways;
  • The second phase, costing PHP74000000 (USD1.5 million), includes clearing and grubbing works of a landslide area. This is due for completion on or before 05-Dec-2021;
  • The third phase, construction of a 390m runway, is scheduled to start on 13-Dec-2021.

Dec-2018. Philippines Department of Transportation (DoTr) qualified seven bidders for works Antique Airport and nine bidders for works at Bukidnon Airport. Development at Antique Airport includes a new terminal, landslide and airside facilities and runway and drainage improvements, while Bukidnon Airport works cover site development. The bidders will now submit plans for detailed evaluation and comparison.

Apr-2013. Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) acting aerodrome engineering department manager Raul G Glorioso said the feasibility study for a proposed airport in Bukidnon province is scheduled to be complete in Jul-2013.
