Ankleshwar Airport

Ankleshwar Airport is a greenfield airport development for the city Ankleshwar, in Gujarat state, India. The airport is to be located near the town of Mandva, approximately 10 kilometres northeast of the city. The airport will be built on an 80 hectare site acquired by the Gujarat State Aviation Infrastructure Company. The new airport is being built to serve the Ankleshwar, Bharuch, Jagadia and Panoli industrial areas, with the Gujarati Government and Gujarat State Aviation Infrastructure Company planning to develop MRO and cargo facilities, which will be intended to handle 10% of India's total airfreight traffic.

Jan-2019. India's Minister for Civil Aviation Suresh Prabhu announced Airports Authority of India and Gujarat's Government signed an agreement to establish a JV for the development of Ankleshwar Airport. Mr Prabhu reported 92ha was acquired for the airport development project.

Jul-2016. India's Minister of State for Civil Aviation Shri Jayant Sinha confirmed two proposals have been received to set up airports in Dholera and Ankleshwar Airport, with the Ministry of Civil Aviation providing 'in principal' approval for the Dholera project. 

Mar-2016. Gujarat State Aviation Infrastructure Company plans to develop a MRO facility at the proposed Ankleshwar Airport. Gujarat's Government initially allocated INR200 million (USD3 million) for the project.
