Established in Dec-2015, Kansai Airports is an airport operating entity established by a consortium led by Orix Corporation and VINCI Airports. Under a 44-year concessionaire agreement, the new company operates Osaka Kansai International Airport and Osaka Itami Airport, effective 01-Apr-2016, in a deal worth JPY2200 billion (USD18 billion). ORIX and VINCI Airports each hold a 40% shareholding in Kansai Airports, while local minority shareholder companies from the Kansai region hold the remaining 20%.
