About
Hiroshima Airport is located 50km east of Hiroshima, one of the westernmost cities on the main Japanese island of Honshu. All Nippon Airways is by far the airport's dominant carrier, followed by Japan Airlines. Much of the airport's capacity is dedicated to the Hiroshima-Tokyo Haneda route, one of Japan's busiest. The airport opened in 1993, replacing Hiroshima West Airport and is operated by Hiroshima Prefectural Government.
Hiroshima International Airport Corporation (HIAP) commenced full scale privatised operations of Hiroshima Airport under a 30 year concession contract on 01-Jul-2021.
