About
General Santos International Airport is located approximately 14 kilometres southwest of General Santos City, on the island of Mindanao. It is Mindanao's largest airport. Construction on the airport started in 1993, jointly funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Philippines Government. The airport commenced operations in Jul-1996. General Santos International Airport is managed by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).
