Wizz Air Ukraine
About
Wizz Air Ukraine was a Kiev-based airline part of Hungarian LCC, Wizz Air. Wizz Air Ukraine operated a fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft to destinations within Ukraine, as well as to destinations across Europe. The carrier noted that the decision to end operations was due to instability in Eastern Ukraine, the devaluation and volatility of the local currency and the impact of foreign exchange controls.
On 21-Nov-2018, Wizz Air announced plans to relaunch subsidiary Wizz Air Ukraine. Wizz Air Ukraine is proposed to be re-established in 2019 with an initial fleet of 10 aircraft with Ukrainian registration, increasing to 20 new A320 and A321 aircraft by 2025. No additional details have been provided.
