MN Airlines LLC d/b/a Sun Country Airlines is an American airline with its base at Minneapolis/St Paul International Airport, Minnesota. Formed by retrenched Braniff pilots in 1982, it operated as a leisure charter operation until 1999, when it commenced domestic and international scheduled services. Privately owned, it is a hybrid LCC airline, operating mainly on seasonal leisure routes to destinations in the USA, the Caribbean and the United Kingdom. It provides a first class offering on its B737 aircraft, as well as a no-frills economy offering. In Dec-2017, Apollo Global Management affiliated funds signed a definitive agreement to acquire Sun Country Airlines. The transaction closed in 2018.
