About

Mihin Lanka was a Sri Lankan LCC fully owned by the Sri Lankan Government. The carrier offered low fare services from Colombo to cities in the Indian sub-continent, the Gulf and Southeast Asia. Under a service consolidation strategy, Mihin Lanka discontinued service operations from 30-Oct-2016 as it was absorbed into parent company, SriLankan Airlines. In Oct-2017, SriLankan Airlines confirmed Mihin Lanka will be liquidated. In Nov-2017, Sri Lanka's Government confirmed it is considering selling the carrier's operator's licenses and certificates to interested third parties looking to establish a new Sri Lankan carrier.
