Linea Aérea Merideña Internacional de Aviación (LaMia), also known as LaMia Airlines, was a proposed start-up carrier to be based in MéridaVenezuela. Formed in 2009, the carrier was initially scheduled to launch in 2014, but faced certification issues. LaMia eventually switched it's focus to the Bolivian market and established LaMia Bolivia Corporación S.R.L. The new carrier commenced service operations in 2016.
