Del Caribe Santiago Mariño International Airport serves the Venezuelan resort destination and largest city on Margarita Island, Porlamar. It is the second busiest airport in the country by passenger numbers, after Caracas Simon Bolivar International Airport. The city is home to one-third of the island's population, and is a popular domestic vacation destination and is therefore served by a strong domestic network, as well as a handful of European and North American leisure and charter carriers. The airport is operated by state-owned Bolivariana de Aeropuertos.
