Jiangxi Air is a Chinese LCC based in Nanchang Changbei International Airport. It is JV between Xiamen Airlines (60%) and Jiangxi Aviation Investment Co (40%), with Jiangxi Aviation Investment Co is itself a JV between several state-owned companies in Jiangxi Province, including the Jiangxi Airport Group. The JV partners invested CNY2.0 billion (USD312.5 million) into the LCC. The Air Traffic Management Bureau of CAAC assigned "CJX" code and "AIR CRANE" as English radio call sign for the airline. Jiangxi Air commenced service operations on 29-Jan-2016, with a Nanchang-Urumqi service and plans to operate to Tier I Chinese cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Chengdu during the initial stages. The carrier also has plans to operate to Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Japan and South Korea, as well as Europe and the Americas in the medium/long term. Jiangxi Air utilises five Boeing 737 aircraft and plans to expand its fleet to 30 aircraft by 2020.
